Sony ST21i to feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as per leaked report

Upcoming Xperia mobile phone: ST21i

The specifications of Sony’s all new Smartphone, Sony ST 21i, sporting the latest android has been leaked out on a tech based website called the techblog.gr. Although Sony fans are delighted to see the specs, yet rumors are that this could be just an unofficial leak to gain market attention. Moreover, Sony has a reputation of slowly building up its product popularity in the most unique ways possible. However, such leaks cannot be believed in unless an official announcement of the same comes from the company itself.

The leaked specs show that the new upcoming android phone features the MSM 7227 chip set with the single core Snapdragon processor. This Snapdragon CPU is clocked at 800 mhz and also comes with the Adreno 200 GPU. This isn’t a very powerful processor as others in the market like Samsung and HTc are coming out with Quad core processors. Moreover, the demand for more processor speed is increasing among the android Smartphone fans.

The display is the usual 3.2 inch LCD with a 320×480 (HVGA) resolution. But it does lack the touch of BRAVIA. In this segment, HTC has a better quality display with better resolution. Even the Camera is not at par and records videos in VGA mode. It is a 3 mega pixel camera at the back side of the phone. The same category phone from HTC equips 5 mega pixel camera with HD recording. Of course, the price variation should be kept in mind. However, Sony phones are not always considered cheaper than others in the market.

This Sony ST 21i is a budget phone for the customers who want to the explore Android system in the lowest possible price. The surprising part of the specs is that this phone will be coming equipped with the latest android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version, when on the other hand, most of the phones of this category run on Gingerbread.
