New 2012 version Galaxy Player 4.2 to be released in South Korea [Android PMP]

Adding another feather to its Android basket, Samsung has launched a new portable Android based media player called the Galaxy Player 4.2. This product was announced earlier this year at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) and was scheduled to be released in South Korea. The customers around the world can go for a pre order of this player from 13th may 2012. The fans are sure to be disappointed for this restricted release by Samsung.

Galaxy Player 2012 Features and Other Details

The Galaxy Player 4.2 comes with a 4.2 inches TFT LCD display screen and a 1 Ghz single core processor. There are two cameras in it which is the usual norm in every phone these days. The Camera at the front is a simple VGA while the camera at the back is a 2 MP. Moreover it has the usual Bluetooth 3.0 and wifi for connectivity purposes. The extended memory can go up to 32 GB using the microSD cards which needs to be bought separately since no microSD card comes along with the box pack. It also has a Radio FM along with stereo speakers. The battery is a 1500 mAh with an optimal backup.

Surprisingly, the player comes loaded with the old Gingerbread Android version instead of the latest Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich (which was least expected from Samsung for all the latest releases). It also comes pre-loaded with apps for e-learning purposes and audio enhancements. There are two pre- loaded games in the Galaxy Player 4.2, that is, NFS: Hot Pursuit and FIFA 2012. Besides these, many more applications are available for office as well as personal use.

The price of this Galaxy Player 2012 for the customers world wide has not yet been released officially. However, in South Korea, The player comes in both 8 GB as well as 16 GB models each costing around 269,000 won and 299,000 won (that equals to around $240 and $269) respectively.
