HTC EVO 4G LTE gets Unofficial CM9 Boot

In an ongoing effort to bring CyanogenMod 9 to the HTC EVO 4G LTE, kushdeck (the XDA’s popular developer), was able to successfully boot the CM9 on this htc device. This was however an unofficial and preliminary effort to do the same.

There was a continuous effort to achieve this among the developers, who are trying their best to bring in the latest technology for the Android device users, especially the hand held devices.

The CM9 (CyanogenMod 9) brings a great experience of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version, without the hassles of installing additional applications on the device. The performance of Android 4.0 is far more superior, if installed in this way, rather than installing the regular default way. The default version of Android on new devices comes along with many supporting applications which in turn slows down the entire working process of the operating system.

Moreover, not all android devices are getting the new Android 4.0 version updates. Most of these devices, which are already in the market, may never see any update on their phone while others might see it pretty late which is as good as not receiving it.

This is precisely why such an unofficial effort of bringing the latest Android on the old devices is being encouraged. The new devices, however, are coming by default with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich version.

The work is ON to produce the official booting process of the CM9 on the HTC EVO 4G LTE. One can go to the official link and see more details on how to unofficial boot the rom on the device. However, this unofficial booting process comes with warnings and there is no guarantee if something goes wrong. Only those who are well aware of the software install procedures, may give a try.
